Tintable Chalkboard Paint is great in chilren's rooms, classrooms, meeting rooms, reception areas, workshops, offices, exhibitions, conference rooms, kitchens and more!

Recommended Coverage: 200 sq.ft./gallon ,  50 sq.ft./quart ,  3 coats are required for optimal surface.

Step 1 - Preparation

• Prep your surface (surface must be smooth) for latex paint as you would any other surface for painting.  Make shure the area is dirt and oil free.
• Area temperature should be above 60 degrees fahrenheit and humidity below 85%
• It is best to use a 1/4" tight nap roller (foam rollers are no longer recommended) or an airless sprayer.
• If not painting an entire wall, tape off the perimeter of your new chalkboard using painter's tape.

Step 2 - Painting

• Be sure to thoroghly stir until the paint is completely mixed.
• Apply paint using a 1/4" tight nap roller
• Allow first coat to dry 3 hours before applying second coat.
• Minimum of 3 coats are required for best results.
• Brushes and rollers clean easily with soap and warm water.

Step 3 - Curing & Sizing

• Allow final coat to fully cure for 1 week before writing on chalkboard.
• After 1 week "size" your new chalkboard by covering the entire surface with chalk (using the long side) and then erasing it using a chalkboard eraser.
• The more you use your chalkboard, the better it will erase.

Tips

• For smoothest finish, lightly sand between coats using 220 grit sandpaper.
• Final coat can be "sanded" with plain, white computer paper.
• Soft, "dust free" chalks work best with tintable chalkboard paint.
